Choosing the right thermostat for you

Choosing the right thermostat for you

The key to finding the right heating system for you is understanding how electric radiators work now, I know what you’re thinking “what person who isn’t an electrician has vast knowledge of radiators “ well that would be me! And I am here to help you make an informed decision, so let’s start with the basics. Most night storage heaters cannot be controlled and are automatic and with the changes of people’s lifestyle this can be a problem. The night storage heater will heat up at night using a cheaper electric rate and release the heat during the day, saving you money on the inflated day time rate, however this cannot be controlled. The night storage heater will give out heat regardless of if you’re at home or not, they also heat every single room. The idea sounds great, and it was in the 1970s, but people’s lifestyles are changing! Why would you want to heat up an empty house up when no one is in? Not only that, have you ever tried to unplug a night storage heater and it doesn’t cool down?  That’s because the stone inside is giving off heat stored from during the night and this cannot be stopped. This inability to stop the stored heat from emitting isn’t ideal when the weather forecast hasn’t turned out as expected. This is where our heaters are different, also each radiator has a thermostat which means you have full controllability, each room can have a different  temperature and setting.

3 different customers 3 different lifestyles.

If you’re worried this sounds complicated no fear, Hehe! There are different thermostats available for each type of customer suiting your different needs.

Simple & Stylish

For our simple and stylish customer, the Protostat is perfect and has selection of easy-to-use bold buttons, the numbers on the screen are big and easy to see, saving you frustration. You can also programme your radiators to come on at a certain time on a 7-day programme. Once the radiator has heated the room to desired temperature it will turn off and it will continue to heat the space for an extra 20-40 minutes via a soapstone core. Once the temperature drops below the desired temperature it will turn on using electricity and because it hasn’t lost much heat it won’t take long to heat back up to desired temperature, saving you money.

The reason we created this thermostat was because there was a demand for a simpler thermostat on the market, thermostats we found were quite complicated and most of our customers found them challenging to use. Of course we couldn’t have that so we created this easy-to-use thermostat with a 5 year (one of the longest on the market) guarantee and it’s manufactured in Britain, so if you need it fixing your guarantee is going to be with a UK company.

Toe Dippers

For our toe dippers, the next thermostat is a little more advanced, perfect for those who want some additional features to dip your toes into.

It also has weekday and weekend programming and a wireless thermostat which means you can move it around the room great for rainy Sundays, heating in bed! This thermostat also has a key lock which is a great addition if you have children.

Astronauts

The trust thermostat app is great for busy bodies on the move, you can control from anywhere, even on holiday ensuring your house is nice and warm.

You can programme your radiators to come on at different times for different days, we think with this thermostat controllability is important to fit into your day-to-day life, it’s one less thing to worry about in our busy world. Also, you can control each room separately and name your rooms, multiple people in your house can download and use the app which can reduce electricity being used therefore saving you money.

The Radiator Buddy

Our final thermostat available is the radiator buddy, which has Bluetooth proximity technology. It was designed for student accommodations and landlords where there can be a lot of energy wastage where electric heaters are left on unnecessarily. This thermostat is perfect in student accommodations. For example, most students go home for Christmas, but some don’t, so all heaters stay on, even in the rooms no one is in. Wouldn’t it be great if only the heaters in rooms that were occupied stayed on? Yes, well our radiators do just that! With our easy Bluetooth system as soon as the Bluetooth disconnects it turns the radiator off, you can programme your heaters on the app too. This Bluetooth proximity tech allows for thousands of pounds of savings!

Now you know what we have to offer when it comes to thermostats. Hopefully you have a few more things to consider when it comes to all things controls, lifestyles and heating!
